Peplum top and pencil skirt

Peplum seems still hot in this spring and i am so happy about that. it was on my ¨to sew¨list through last year (though i couldn’t make it) and even prepared pattern Vogue8815. well, peplum is peplum but my peplum taste has been definitely changed in this year.

It is all about overskirt. i wanted fitted raised waistline and full volume skirt. for this i had to draw new pattern for overskirt. i drew total 6 lines along the length of the back and front skirt, cut along the lines, then spread the resulting pieces to 5cm each.

back neckline and back buttons are another modification i made. i also did bias binding for arm and skirt hemline. i made bias tape with same fabric. bias tape making is kind of thing  i do between sewing and thinking. my purpose was keep the volume and it was right.

my leatherette skirt is very basic pencil skirt. very clean, simple and feminine. especially when it has slightly under knee length which i really love.

I used my basic skirt pattern which i use again and again and again….probably whole my life. you really can play with various fabric when the pattern is so simple. i used this small cut out leatherette from my stash.

Slits on back skirt

i attached zipper on back skirt slit. olala,  i can control my back appearance depends on mood!!
